On 10 April 2018, the Partners of Resaco Sp. z o.o. signed an agreement on co-financing the project entitled 'Construction of a production plant for plastic bags' as part of the Regional Operational Programme of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship 2014-2020. Priority Axis 1 'Economy, Innovation, Modern Technologies' Measure 1.5 'Investments of enterprises supporting the development of regional specialisations and smart specialisations'.

The aim of the project is to increase the competitiveness of the company by implementing, until 31 August 2018, product and process innovation consisting of manufacturing waste bags from three-layer film using innovative machines.

The cost of the investment project was estimated at PLN 7.2 million. The Marshal's Office of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship will provide Resaco with PLN 4 million in co-financing.

Extruder

In the third quarter of 2018, our company, thanks to the funds from the European Union Regional Operational Programme of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, implemented an innovative, environmentally friendly technology for manufacturing plastic bags from three-layer film with a significant proportion of contaminated polymer recyclates. The implemented technology enables effective recycling of both contaminated and multilayer polymer films. An innovative technological process, consisting of extrusion of bags made of three-layer film, where the two outer layers are made of high quality recyclate, giving a smooth and continuous surface, and an inner layer made of regrind of multi-material film composed of mixed and highly contaminated and printed waste, made it possible to use waste which so far was not suitable for mechanical recycling. The company uses waste as a raw material for production. Waste bags made of a mixture of high- and low-quality polyethylene regrind allowed achievement of very high strength with relatively low thickness, which was confirmed by tests performed in the Laboratory of Polymer Materials and Packaging of the Division of Food Industry Processes and Facilities of the Koszalin University of Technology.
